memento workshop

Des de el pasado miércoles hasta hoy he participado en un workshop de fotografía sobre el Memento Project, impartido por Trish Brennan y Roseanne Lynch, profesoras del Cork Institute of Technology, en Irlanda. Institución que participa en el proyecto Memento junto con otras 5 escuelas europeas.

El taller trataba el autorretrato y los recuerdos, la memoria etc. A partir de ahí debíamos crear nuestro propio retrato. Hasta aquí no parece un gran reto, pero decidí usar las cámaras de gran formato que hay en AKI para mi proyecto, por lo que he en dos días he tenido que aprender a usarlas y a revelar la película.

Simplemente fascinante. No me importaría quedarme otra noche hasta las 3 de la mañana encerrada en un cuarto oscuro revelando fotos con gente tan maravillosa como la de ayer.

Since last Wednesday until today I attended a photography workshop on Memento Project, taught by Trish Brennan and Roseanne Lynch, teachers from Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland, that participates in the Memento along with 5 other European schools.

The workshop treated the self portrait and memories. From there we should create our own portrait. So far doesn't seems to be a big challenge, but I decided to use the large format cameras that are in the AKI for my project, so in two days I've had to learn how to use and develop the film.

Simply fascinating. I would not mind staying another night until 3 am locked in a dark room developing photos with people as wonderful as yesterday.
